Tiny Tutus is a beautiful, developmentally appropriate beginner ballet program that teaches the basic concepts of classical ballet, movement, music appreciation, rhythm and poise. Tiny Tutu’s builds self-confidence and self-esteem in young children and actively fosters a love of dance at the most magical time in a little dancers life.
Lessons at Tiny Tutus Preschool Ballet Studio introduce important ballet basics as well as encouraging imagination and creative movement. Our lessons include gentle introductions to ballet feet and arm positions, centre and cross floor exercises. Our Tiny Tutu Ballerinas learn about moving in a routine and working together as a group. We also have a focus on self-expression and interpretation as our little dancers use different props (such as wands, ribbons, fairy wings) to dramatise different styles of music.

All classes are open to all ballerinas aged between 18 months and school age.
However our curriculum is graded and tailored for specific ages.
Tiny Tutus Introductory Curriculum
We recommended our Introductory Curriculum for our younger ballerinas (2½ – 3 yrs).

Our Tiny Tutus Introductory Curriculum is a beautiful exploration of music and ballet.
Lessons introduce ballet steps and develop beginning ballet technique. They are well paced and keep our ballerinas engrossed from start to finish.
Tiny Tutus Beginning Curriculum
We recommend for our Beginnings Curriculum for ballerinas 3 – 4 year old ballerinas.

Lessons continue to focus on developing ballet technique as new steps are introduced to challenge and extend our young dancers.
This class provides wonderful foundations for our ballerinas who choose to continue and move into our Princess Dance Company when they begin school.
Our afternoon lessons are open to ballerinas from 3 ½ to 5 years of age. These classes and are a careful blend of our Beginnings and Pre-Ballet curriculums.
Teeny Tiny Tutus Curriculum for 18 – 24 months
Teeny Tiny Tutus is a special class for children from 18 – 24 months where grownups (be that a Mummy, Daddy, Grandparent or any other special grownup) actively participate.
Teeny Tiny Tutus is ballerinas and their grownup beautifully sharing dance, songs, rhymes, movements, props and instruments.
The Teeny Tiny Tutus program encourages parents and children to embrace dance, music, rhythms, instruments and magical props in each class, based on the idea that children are naturally musical and rhythmic.
Each class consists of ballerinas between 18 – 24 months age. Children are absorbing the music and rhythms at all ages in their own way, and the informal structure of the class accommodates each child at their individual level. Classes are 30 minutes in length.
Teeny Tiny Tutus is More than Just another Mummy and Me Class!
All children are natural movers and shakers. Wiggling, dancing, singing and laughing with your little ballerina is so much fun – it’s easy to forget how much learning is going on at the same time! Teeny Tiny Tutus develops not only your ballerina’s love of dance and music, it nurtures creativity, self-expression and confidence! Your ballerina’s natural aptitude for music blossoms and they learn to move and dance as naturally as they learn to walk and talk.
Why does this happen? Little ballerinas learn differently from grownups. They learn through imitation and play, from those beautiful interactions with grownups who love them. Teeny Tiny Tutus is a family like ‘safe’ setting creating the perfect place where our littlest ballerinas can freely participate at their own level.
Grown-ups are Really Important!!
Our littlest ballerinas learn through play, experimentation, and by watching and listening to the grownups they love. Remember you need to join in!! Grownups needs to be enthusiastic participants to show their little ballerinas how much fun dance can be!
Our grownups don’t need to have any previous dance skills – you just need to be ready to get a bit silly and have a fabulous time with your ballerina. Get ready to dance, move, sing and play just like your ballerina!!! Previous experience isn’t necessary – the ability to have fun is all we need!!!
There is a method behind the Teeny Tiny Tutu madness – we recognise that parents and caregivers are the primary role models for their ballerina, and if they see you doing the singing and dancing, they will be more inclined to do it as well. You will experience this first hand after the first class, as your little ballerina will probably still be singing the songs all the way home in the car and dancing all the moves they learned in class in your lounge room well after the ‘Tutus’ has ended.
And that’s a good thing. You’ll see a difference in your ballerina as the term progresses. It’s also a great way to help kids get over any shyness they may have around other kids.

Tutu Jazz
Our Tiny Tot Jazz classes use popular, bubbly, upbeat music that kids know and love. Our Tutu Jazzerinas are taught the basic fundamentals of Jazz/Funk technique as well as encouraging imagination and creative movement. Children learn to move their bodies in sync with the music with beat and rhythm. This class is all about fun, but provides great dance foundations. You will need a pair of jazz shoes (camel/tan colour) for this class.
Tutu Tap
Our Tutu Tap classes are all about the beat and those magical shoes. There’s nothing more exciting than putting on a pair of tap shoes and making fabulous sounds with your feet!! Our Tutu Tapperinas learn the beginning of feet and leg work for tap technique as well as encouraging the development of beat and rhythm. There’s nothing like a class of Tutu Tapperinas to make you smile. You’ll need to buy a pair of tap shoes (camel/tan) for this class.
Parents and Lessons
Parents are warmly welcome to stay and watch class. As a courtesy to our ballerinas, teacher and other parents, we do ask that if you stay in the studio itself that you sit quietly. If younger siblings are with parents they must remain quietly seated. As your ballerina becomes more comfortable, you may feel happy leaving for the length of the class.
Enrolment Requirements
To enrol in a Tiny Tutu’s class, dancers must:
1. be 18 months of age
2. be able to follow instructions and be part of a group
3. most importantly…want to dance!
