An Interview with Simone Cadell, our studio Principal
“Tiny Tutus is Ballet for Princesses,” says studio owner Simone Cadell.
Tiny Tutus began in 2009 with 50 little ballerinas and today has over 500 students across Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter and growing each day! Tiny Tutus is a unique preschool ballet program that introduces little ballerinas to classical ballet and beginner elements of Jazz technique as well as encouraging imagination and creativity.
“Tiny Tutus really is such a gorgeous place for ballerinas 16 months to 5 years to dance,” Simone continued.
At Tiny Tutus classes are open, which means parents are welcome to watch! Ballerinas at such tender ages love having parents in class to watch, encourage and support…and we love having parents too!!
“As a Mummy myself, I know my little one would be much more comfortable knowing I’m there cheering her on! There really is nothing more wonderful than watching your own little Tiny Tutus ballerina dance!” said Simone.
Tiny Tutus is a beautiful, developmentally appropriate, award winning beginner ballet program that teaches the basic concepts of classical ballet, movement, music appreciation, rhythm and poise. Tiny Tutus builds self-confidence and self-esteem in young children and actively fosters a love of dance at the most magical time in a little dancer’s life.
Lessons at Tiny Tutus Preschool Ballet Studio introduce important ballet basics as well as encouraging imagination and creative movement. Our lessons include gentle introductions to ballet feet and arm positions, centre and cross floor exercises. Our Tiny Tutu Ballerinas learn about moving in a routine and working together as a group. We also have a focus on self-expression and interpretation as our little ballerinas dance with different props (such as wands, ribbons and fairy wings) to dramatise different styles of music.
